Dear Sirs,
Since long time , at international level, horrible letters are sent
concerning cruelty towards stray animals in Greece and Italy. Real
animalwelfare groups located on the territories are attacked to not
doing the necessary for the welfare of the pets (so as vets) and
announce touristic boykott.
We won't think that under the cover of this actions of this "strange"
interests, there's a real organisation created to picking up pets (dogs
and cats) to bring them in other countries where no trace of them
can be found. As Greece (unfortunately not also Italy), recently
imposed the embargo for this illogical export, the interested people
are doing all their utmost to miscreditate your country as they also
made towards Italy, after a few articles appeared also in Italy
about big exports of dogs and cats towards northeuropean countries.
We believe that all serious countries must protect and defend their
pets, also educate the citizens to love and respect animals, but
the export to unknown destinations is not acceptable and the
phrenetic actions of the exporters causes high doubts on their real
interests regarding the animal welfare, that, we repeat it,
disappear totally: the few adresses given are false, the phone
numbers do not correspond to the indicated country etc....
It's to you now to think about the real destination of the "saved"
animals by these benefactors that live making this "job".

Egregi Signori, da tempo circolano a
livello mondiale lettere orrende che parlano di maltrattamenti di
animali in Grecia ed in Italia e che accusano i Governi e le
associazione vere presenti sul territorio di non adempiere ai loro
doveri (per la Grecia vengono accusati anche i veterinari) e
annunciano il boicottaggio turistico.
Non vorremmo che sotto a tutto questo strano "interesse" si nasconda
una autentica organizzazione creata appositamente per prelevare
animali (cani e gatti) e portarli in paesi stranieri ove non si
possono mai più ritrovare le loro tracce. Poichè la Grecia ( e
purtroppo non anche l'Italia) ha recentemente posto la parola FINE a
questa esportazione illogica, gli interessati si sono messi in moto
per screditare al massimo il vostro Paese ed hanno allargato questo
discredito anche al nostro Paese dopo alcuni articoli giornalistici
che denunciavano le esportazioni massicce di cani e gatti verso il
Nord Europa.
Noi pensiamo che ogni Paese serio deve proteggere e difendere i
propri animali, se non altro per educare i cittadini ad una
sensibilità doverosa, ma l'esportazione verso l'ignoto è
inaccettabile e la frenesia dimostrata dagli esportatori lascia
quanto meno enormi dubbi sul loro reale interesse verso il benessere
degli animali che, lo ripetiamo, scompaiono nel nulla assoluto: i
pochi indirizzi forniti risultano falsi, i numeri telefonici non
corrispondono al Paese indicato ecc.
Lasciamo a Voi il dramma di trarre le dovute considerazioni sulla
fine reale degli animali "salvati" da codesti benefattori che vivono
facendo questo "lavoro".
